Yesterday at the Clean Energy Council’s Queensland Summit, industry leaders came together to explore the opportunities and challenges shaping the state’s clean energy future. Among the highlights was a session on Operating in the National Electricity Market (NEM), featuring Rachel Rundle, Eku Energy’s Director of Policy & Regulation.

Rachel joined fellow experts to unpack the complexities of the NEM and share insights on how clean energy projects can deliver energy security over the long-term. The discussion covered key themes including:

  • Evolving market reforms – examining the latest changes and what they mean for investors and developers.
  • Operational requirements – ensuring projects meet the technical and compliance needs of the NEM.
  • Technology innovation – exploring how advances in storage and digital solutions can unlock greater flexibility and value.
  • Future opportunities – highlighting how market design will continue to support the decarbonisation of Australia’s energy system.

As large-scale battery storage and renewable projects scale up across Queensland and the wider NEM, these insights are critical to enabling projects to perform effectively, deliver strong returns, and accelerate the clean energy transition.

Eku Energy is proud to contribute to shaping the market conversation and advancing the role of energy security, cost-effective clean energy and storage in Australia’s future energy mix.
