Arundel BESS

The project is currently in development with planning and environmental studies underway.

We are keen to receive feedback from local residents and the community about the project.

Project overview

Arundel BESS is a proposed 300MW/1200MWh lithium-ion battery energy storage system. The project is located within the Wagga Wagga City Council (WWCC) Local Government Area (LGA) in the suburb of Gregadoo, about 14km south of the centre of Wagga Wagga.

The project site is closely adjacent to the Wagga Wagga 330kV Substation which plays a pivotal role in the interconnection between the Victorian and NSW power systems, supporting energy security and grid stability of the NEM.

The project is anticipated to be operational in 2030 and will generate electricity into the National Electricity Market (NEM) NSW/VIC Region with a proposed operational life of 20+ years.

We mobilise to site for ground-breaking and start building the project.

Current Status
4. Operations

Now the BESS is ready to deliver additional storage capacity to the grid and is managed by a team to ensure it operates as intended.

Current Status
5. Decommissioning

After 20+ years of its intended operational life, the BESS is decommissioned and the site is restored.
