More than two-thousand young minds, one makeshift energy network model, and countless great connections.

Last week, Eku Energy was delighted to sponsor and exhibit at Dorrie Day in Gladstone, connecting with local students, families and First Nations community members to share how battery energy storage supports Australia's energy future.

At our stall, we had the opportunity to speak with more than 125 students, jobseekers and community members about energy storage and the role batteries play in supporting the grid. Using a simple water pipe model, we demonstrated how batteries charge, store and dispatch energy when it's needed most. Visitors helped "charge" our battery by adding stickers throughout the day, creating an interactive way to learn about the energy transition.

It was fantastic to connect with First Nations communities and the wider Gladstone region, showcasing not only how battery energy storage systems work, but also the education, training and employment opportunities they can create.
