Maldon BESS

Enhancing grid stability in the UK.

Maldon BESS is the first project we commissioned in the UK. It is operational since September 2024.

Project overview

Maldon is a 40 MW / 40 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) located in Essex, England providing vital flexibility to enable more renewable energy generation and increase the resilience of the UK electricity network. The Maldon BESS is operational since September 2024.

Located on the outskirts of London, the Maldon BESS helps to store and shift renewable energy to times of the day when it is most needed, while helping to balance electricity supply and demand second-by-second. The Maldon BESS owned by Eku Energy, is serviced and maintained by Trina Storage and is anticipated to operate for more than 20 years.
