Tender Round 8 of the Commonwealth Government’s Capacity Investment Scheme is delivering further dispatchable capacity in the Australian National Electricity Market.
Eku Energy is proud that the Byellee Battery Energy Storage System (300 MW/1.16 GWh) in Queensland has been announced by the Commonwealth Government as a successful project in this Tender Round of the Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS).
The Capacity Investment Scheme helps in advancing Australia’s energy transition and commercialising projects – such as Byellee BESS – while supporting system strength and energy security.
Together with our development partner ATRIA energy, we are developing the Byellee BESS throughout 2026 with construction expected to commence in 2027.
