Stuart is the Director of Development and Country Lead, Australia for Eku Energy, a globally diversified and technology enabled energy storage business. He has over fifteen years’ experience in energy and infrastructure working in corporate development, project development and strategy roles. At Eku Energy, he is responsible for leading origination and development activities for the company’s portfolio in Australia. Stuart focuses on the development of Eku Energy’s portfolio by triangulating between the financial, technical and policy levers of the energy sector. He has been instrumental in delivering on Eku Energy’s 1GWh of storage assets in Australia.

Stuart joined Eku from Macquarie Asset Management. Prior to this he was Portfolio Development Lead at EnergyAustralia where he helped develop some of its first utility scale battery projects in the National Electricity Market. At EnergyAustralia, he led the development of over 500MW of dispatchable assets which included a 335MW eight hour pumped hydro project at Lake Lyell in New South Wales and negotiating offtake agreements for the Gannawarra, Ballarat, Darlington Point and Riverina batteries.

Stuart’s career includes stints at Deloitte Access Economics and Monitor Deloitte where he worked as an economic advisor in the energy sector and strategy consultant for the delivery of major projects across a range of industries. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Sydney, a Masters in Energy Systems and Economics from the University of Melbourne and an MBA from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
