Eku Energy is  fully invested in our mission of accelerating the global energy transition by delivering safe, secure and reliable energy storage solutions that provide cost-effective clean energy.

This agreement was realized through the alignment of Tokushima Prefecture’s industrial strategy to foster the battery storage sector with the Eku Energy’s mission of accelerating the energy transition. Tokushima Prefecture offers a favorable environment for the growth of utility scale battery energy storage systems, with abundant renewable energy resources, geographical advantages, and an established manufacturing base that includes battery production facilities as well as strong clusters in electronic components and chemical industries.

Through this MOU, Eku Energy Japan will work with Tokushima Prefecture to support the development of next-generation energy industries, promote the use of battery technology for disaster prevention and mitigation, foster education and training for local youth, and drive carbon neutrality, addressing regional challenges from multiple perspectives.

On the Signing of the MOU Partnership Agreement

Masazumi Gotoda, Governor of Tokushima Prefecture

“We sincerely appreciate the successful conclusion of the MOU with Eku Energy Japan. Tokushima Prefecture has formulated the ‘Tokushima Battery Valley Concept’ to establish the ‘battery-related industry’, which contributes to the realisation of a decarbonised society, as a new pillar of our regional economy. Through this MOU, we will not only advance the concept but also broaden our collaboration in areas such as efforts toward carbon neutrality and creating a safe and secure living environment. We will continue working to contribute to the sustainable development of Tokushima Prefecture.”

Kentaro Ono, President, Eku Energy Japan

“Against the backdrop of the Japanese government’s basic policy on realising GX (Green Transformation), the business environment for grid-scale batteries is rapidly improving, including the expansion of electricity trading markets and regulatory reforms. These developments are creating increasing opportunities to achieve decarbonisation, stable energy supply, and economic growth. Partnerships are at the core of our approach, founded on trust and respect for long-term collaboration, and we are delighted to partner with Tokushima Prefecture to support the local community.
